Tim's job. The main thing to note is that there hasn't been reorganisation all year! But the sales unit I'm a member of has a new boss, so that has led (and still is leading) to lots of "initiatives" and "focus groups", and other such distractions from the day job. It's exciting stuff though, with the prospect of being in at the start of the new AT&T/BT global joint venture which should be launched by next Christmas.

Holidays. The job is still very demanding in terms of hours out of the house, so I'm lucky if I see Peter in the weekday evenings; Saturdays and Sundays are therefore very precious to us all. But there are some compensations. My team did very well in their sales performance to the end of March so I won 2 (yes two) foreign trips. The first and most amazing was a long weekend in Dubai! It was a holiday for two, but we didn’t think that Peter would enjoy the climate and hectic schedule, and of course Chris couldn’t leave him, so I took my brother Dave along instead. It was the holiday of a lifetime – sand-boarding, dune rallying, camel riding, belly dancing (watching not doing), gold buying (yes Chris did get something out of it after all), swimming in a sea as hot as a bath (they even have to chill the outdoor swimming pools), sightseeing, fine dining and so on. All crammed in between a Friday at 6pm and a Tuesday at 9pm.
