TimnChris' Christmas homepage

Each year we write a Christmas letter which we send to all our friends. This is the 1998 on-line version. Enjoy!

What a smiler!Peter is a star! He's just turned one, and he's done nothing but smile for the last 12 months. Well, that's a slight exaggeration of course - he has his moments - but generally he really is a happy little chap. Whilst we don't know quite why this is, we are definitely not complaining! And I’m glad to say that Chris is enjoying motherhood infinitely more than waiting for his arrival.

Just swingingOk – I’d better get the other baby stuff out of the way. He's only got the two teeth so far, and whilst he crawls around at high speed, pulls himself up onto his feet at the drop of a hat and positively sprints up the stairs, he hasn’t yet threatened to take his first step. Bookshelves are under real threat both in being stripped and scaled. Fragile ornaments have retreated to higher altitudes. And he really loves music - we seem to have conditioned him particularly well to jiggle around to 70s and 80s disco music (Boogie Wonderland is his favourite) - and he sings along in his own sweet way to the radio, tv, cd, cassette player….he doesn’t really care which. As far as nights are concerned, from as early as eight weeks he’s normally managed about 12 hours sleep, but it's only in the last two months that he’s stopped waking up once or twice and needing assistance of various kinds to drop off again. It's only recently too that it's been 12 hours from 7 o'clock rather than from 6 - and that makes a big difference to a Saturday and Sunday morning! It was good to see some of you at Peter’s dedication in the Summer. We really do thank God for Peter, he’s very special to us and he’s becoming special to others as well.
