Chris

This year I’ve continued to be an ‘at home Mum’ albeit one who seems hardly ever to be at home. I’m also still supporting one of our Church leaders as his PA, but I’ve stopped being part of our Congregation Team. Instead I’ve started being a bit of a ‘if it needs doing I’ll do it’ in our church’s life—e.g. selling 80 redundant chapel chairs for £10 each, finding a home for a large number of lovely knitted jumpers that had somehow been forgotten, washing tea-towels, making tea, supporting people who are finding life tough, and having fun.

Our worship band recorded a live CD in October and you can even hear me singing backing vocals on some of the tracks (i.e. I didn’t get mixed-out at the editing stage!). Also the church hosted a big conference in November with Bill Johnson and Che Ahn which ended up being filmed and broadcast live on GodTV—so I’ve even been on the telly! (see slideshow and a couple of short video clips).

I’m on daily homework standby for Peter (there really does seem to be way too much for junior school) and less often for Andrew. My animal husbandry skills have been extended to caring for five hamsters in addition to trusty Steadie Eddie the GP (guinea-pig).

If you haven’t read it yet, get a copy of the book ‘The Shack’ by William P Young—it has changed the way I think about God in amazing ways. Some people have cried all the way through—I didn’t but it certainly is a gripping read and so, so good.

It certainly feels like a time for redirection—just not sure where next for me. I have missed not going ‘overseas’ this year—I must make some plans for next. Not sure where to go though—Africa, India, Thailand, Cambodia, China, Nepal . . . .
