Peter
celebrated his birthday with nine of his own friends plus Andrew and his best
friend Thomas. We all went ten pin bowling. They had a great time and Chris managed
to impress them when because one boy was a bit late she stood in for him, and with
the one ball she bowled knocked down all 10 pins: a strike! So big up the respect
for Peter’s mum! Fortunately she didn’t have to do it again - she's not sure she would have
looked so impressive second time around. Peter
is now ten whole years old. He is getting tall and remains thin with it. His
hair, which was cut today, continues to be very thick with a tendency to get
curly if left too long. He still enjoys school and has a consistent set of
really good mates. For a small group of them ‘Club
Penguin’ has become the
place to meet (online if you haven’t guessed). We’ve allowed Peter to pay to be
a member for a month, which gives all sorts of extra benefits - apparently! It's
fun to hear Peter and Andrew meeting somewhere in an igloo in Club Penguin-land talking to each other from separate computers—the delights of
free
internet access—of course it does mean that Tim will never be able to leave BT,
but as you will read later at least life at BT is never boring. Peter's
recently started doing Saturday morning football - having finally decided he wanted to get
better so needed to train a bit. Tim has been taking him and staying to watch
the practice session followed by a game. Tim finds it a bit frustrating, and
it’s probably a bit embarrassing for Peter what with all the shouting of
‘encouragement’ that goes on. He seems to have a good time though, and Chris
just
loves cleaning the football boots afterwards. His favourite clothes are He's continued to learn the guitar at school and take part in the school choir.
Unfortunately the teacher who currently runs both is leaving at Christmas, so
we hope that one of the new teachers will take on at least one of these two
activities. A number of Marlow schools got together this Autumn to make a CD
for sale for school funds. It was launched at a concert one evening at the
Wycombe Swan Theatre. Peter was able to participate and he had a really great
time. Andrew managed to stay awake for almost all of it, but wilted near the end
and had to be taken home.
Peter
also plays cricket at an after-school club: he really enjoys it, and we can see
the advantage of having a coach who is a professional - he inspires so much
enthusiasm in the children. |
