cd and run t At school Peter really enjoyed and did well in the Reception class at Burford, but has found it a bit of a shock entering Year 1 – less free-play and a more structured approach. But after a shaky start he has knuckled down well to the new regime including the weekly homework tasks that are additional to the ever-extending lists of words to bring home to learn to read and write. He’s just discovering that he can read not just these lists but things like (bits of) the sides of toy containers….. far more useful! What words describe Peter’s interests? Well, they’d include Bionicles, Power Rangers, Action Man and Batman; and less macho things like drawing, and reading (having read to him) The Beano. He is part of a small group of four or five close friends, so there is more "can xxxxx come round to play" than before. He has just asked ‘Can Sophie come to play?’ Chris is not sure what you ‘do’ with girls when they come to play! Earlier in the year Peter also suddenly realised that he didn’t actually need armbands anymore and now confidently doggy paddles around the Marlow swimming pool where Tim takes him and Andrew most Saturday afternoons. |
