Mostly Smiley!

Bundle of joyLast year we kicked off this traditional seasonal letter with the glad tidings that a baby was on the way; most of you will know that Andrew arrived safely on 9th May. We had managed by then to persuade Peter that a "big boy’s bed" was a better place than the cot, so it had vacant possession in plenty of time. It's been hard work since then of course, but Andrew is developing character fast and is a real treat. He's just started crawling - but has been desperate to stand up for some time, managing to pull himself up on chairs or Peter's toybox - but then often loses balance or his grip and ends up banging his forehead. So he's a little bruised at the moment! It's been lovely to see Peter really enjoying him too, with almost no sibling aggression - although he does have a tendency to snatch any toys that Andrew seems to be having too much fun with!

Grandma, Peter & Andrew aged 1 daySo what’s it like with two boys? Tiring, especially when the littl'un doesn't agree with the concept of sleeping at night. But then again, not as tiring as having three. No, that isn't a hint - two is it for us old fogies who both turn 40 next year. As far as Andrew and sleep is concerned, we thought we had it sussed - up until the end of August he was doing really well and on occasions had even slept through from 7 to 7…... but then we went on holiday. Doh! The lack of routine and familiar surroundings totally threw him, and it took three months after that to get back to where we were.
